Red Sauce

Serves: 4-6
Ingredients
- 5 28 oz cans of whole, peeled San Marzano tomatoes
- 1 white onion, diced fine
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- Salt
Equipment
- Food mill (sorry, I know no other way)
Instructions
- Open the cans of tomatoes and drain excess liquid.
- In a large sauce pot, add the olive oil over medium-low heat.
- Once the oil is shimmering, add the onion and cook until soft. Turn the heat down to low.
- With the food mill on top of the sauce pot, mill the tomatoes, scraping the bottom ocassionally.
- Bring the sauce to a simmer for about 3-4 hours. Stir frequently, about avery 20 minutes.
